What’s involved?

Open Water (Junior) is available to anyone aged 10 years. Open Water Diver from 15 years old.

Divecrew provides full UK Open Water Certification providing diver comfort by using dry suits not wet suits in UK open water. Or, if you wish to complete your open water overseas in warm water, we also provide the Open Water Referral (confined water training completed here in the UK with the final four open water dives completed overseas). Group or private training is available, weekend or midweek, you choose. Fast track training is also available for referrals with either a one day option or spread over Saturday and Sunday.

Open Water Diver training requires you to read the Open Water Manual, watch the Open Water DVD, and undertake the knowledge reviews, quizzes with a final multiple choice exam. Then it is off to the swimming pool for the confined water training of diving skills in the care of our experienced professional Dive Team. If you are undertaking a full open water, there are four further dives in open water all under the care and supervision of the professional Divecrew Team.

Contact the dive centre today and we can provide more detailed information to suit your specific needs. Don’t delay; an exciting underwater world is waiting.

We recommend that student divers have their own mask, snorkel and fins. Ask about our free professional mask fitting service. For the pool training we recommend the use of a short wetsuit or swimming costume + long sleeved t-shirt for diver comfort as pool sessions can be over three hours long. The course fee includes all PADI training materials, pool fees, tuition, and use of school diving equipment: weights, regulators, BCD, air tank and a dry suit/undersuit for open water.
